“Plan with me”- The Process
This month, I want to wholly use a galactic nebula theme.
At first, it was a bit hard for me to find a method that I can reproduce well. But then I tried it like this:
First I painted circles with the colors that were supposed to shimmer through the nebula. I painted them in different sizes and different intensities. After they had dried, I slightly blurred the colors with some water. So I made the edge a bit softer, too.
Then I drew with black cycles on top. Again in different sizes and differently saturated. To make everything look more like clouds, I made several layers with black circles.
When I was satisfied with the previous work, I tried to create a cloud effect with opaque white. Above all, I emphasized the edges of the black circles to make it look as if light were shining through.
For the galaxy theme to be perfect in my opinion, I have set many small points as little stars. For even more details, I painted crosses as larger stars.
After the illustration was finished, all that was missing was the name of the month for the cover page. So I wrote March with Crayola Super Tips to achieve a brush lettering effect. Then I added white lines into the letter, et voila, the cover page is finished.
Coming soon, I’ll show you a tutorial, so you can easily paint galactic nebula.
